Have you set your eyes on a design and digital science program that Open Window Institute offers and are now wondering about the application process? This article will answer all your questions regarding the institute’s 2024 online application process. But first, let’s get to know this institution more.
About the Open Window Institute.
The Open Window Institute is a private educational institution based in Centurion, Gauteng region in South Africa. The school was founded in 1993 and has maintained the highest education standards since then by keeping an eye on ongoing innovation and implementing it in its programs.
It is a unique education provider that aims to help build the sharpest creative minds in the Southern African region and abroad. This is a critical school given the recent growth in technical skills requirements across different professional fields such as marketing, where most of it has gone digital, skyrocketing the demand for marketing professionals who possess design skills such as the ones offered by the Open Window Institute.
The institute has partnered up with credible institutions, most of them with an international footprint, as it thrives on keeping its programs aligned to global trends. Some of its partners are UXi Private Education Group, Oxford College of Marketing, and the University of Stellenbosch Business School. Below we provide information about its 2024 online application.

So, before embarking on an application process, you should decide which one of the above programs you would like to study. However, there could be academic or financial restrictions that affect the choice of your program. In this case, you should consider speaking to an advisor that the institution provides. Advisors help prospective students choose the most suitable program based on their education and financial standing.
As such, you should consider talking to an advisor and apply through them for the most favourable study time for you. The last thing you want is to pick the wrong program and spend years studying something unsuitable for you – or something that places you under severe financial strain.
Speaking to an advisor
According to the above, this is the appropriate first step to take. Therefore, after you have browsed through the institution’s programs, your next step should be to find an advisor to talk to. To do so, navigate to this page on their website. Once on the page, navigate to where it says Career Guidance and fill out the contact form thereon. You will be asked to enter a few details such as your name, phone number, email, and the choice program. Submit the contact form and wait for an advisor from the school to talk to you. Alternatively, you can call Open Window Institute at 012-648-9200.
Next, you will talk to an advisor virtually or on campus. Before talking to them, make sure to have your ID ready and past school results and portfolio – if you have already been working on some designs.
What is the Open Window Count (OW Count)?
You will provide your latest school results when you talk to an advisor. They will then use these results to calculate your OW Count. The institution uses this count to help you find the best program.
Besides the results, your resultant OW Count and the program suitable for you, the interview with an advisor allows you to share more information about yourself. Therefore, if you also require financial assistance, this will be the time to let them know so that they provide you with the list of financial solutions available for students.
Finally, the advisor will let you know the equipment you must buy for your study program. They will also help you with information about accommodation solutions closer to the school.
The Application Process.
When you are done with the student advisor, you will await confirmation that your academic results have been vetted successfully. After this, you will know which program you should apply for and what is expected from you. So, you will be free to go ahead and fill out the application form. I will outline the rest of the process below.
