The University of Fort Hare is an exciting and sustainable African university dedicated to teaching and learning and producing world-class research. The university is committed to serving its students, staff, and the surrounding community with excellence (University of Fort Hare, 2022). Since 2004, the University of Fort Hare has been integrating a new campus in the city of East London, formerly under Rhodes University, into the University of Fort Hare.
This expansion has allowed the University of Fort Hare to implement strategies that allow for a wider range of students across a wider selection of faculties to be admitted to the university across three campuses in Alice, Bhisho and East London. With this new academic system, five new faculties were able to be added to the university.
The University of Fort Hare excels in student retention and promotes ‘graduateness’ amongst its students, and in 2019, the university was able to graduate 153 PhD students successfully.
